Knowledge transfer in order to increase the performance of electric machines using intelligent multifunctional materials
The main objective of the project is to develop a new type of electric motor that is characterized by high torque density, compact dimensions, low weight and high efficiency. These properties will be fulfilled by designing and making components of an electric motor using the additive manufacturing technique (AM).
This new type of motor can be designed for electric traction, servo systems, industrial robots, positioning systems, systems, high performance industrial automation.
Icpe aims to introduce in manufacturing a new product for which it is anticipated that there will be demand. In the current economic context due to a high dynamics of the market segment that includes electric motors, manufacturers operating nationally and internationally are required to permanently offer new and competitive solutions for their products. In addition to technological challenges, the European market imposes additional financial challenges leading to the need to develop new high-performance products that are based on innovative technologies (such as the use of laser technologies) and have an efficient manufacturing process.
