ABSTRACT

The paper presents the preliminaries of the sustainable development, that began after the Second War World by the ecological actions and continued, after 1980, by a new type of development conception. Under the aegis of the United Nations, in 1987, the report „Our Common Future” officialised the sustainable development concept, named the “Brundtland concept” too. The report was the ground for the first programs on the sustainable development, presented and recommended at the „Earth Summit” at Rio de Janeiro, in 1992. The analysis of the above mentioned preliminaries completely explain the complexity of the development problems, and justify the necessity of a moral and spiritual reform of the whole humanity, besides a new social, political, economic, financial and military reforms.
