ABSTRACT

The paper presents a high-tech permanent magnets brushless machine with double-radial air gap, double rotor and axially aligned stator poles. The stator windings are physical separated from each other in order to encourage airflow around the conductors for a better effective cooling. Numerical modeling analysis is used to predict the new machine performances. The new configuration provides some advantages in comparison with a standard construction: higher efficiency, lower permanent magnet weight, efficient cooling system, lower inertia, suited for fault tolerant machine.
