ABSTRACT

The paper deals with a naval propulsion system in which the propeller is directly driven, on the periphery, by an electric motor. This configuration enables an increase of the propulsion efficiency. The motor used is synchronous, with permanent magnets, free of slots. The construction and the experimental results are also presented.
