Activities

Completed

Phase 1 – Study on the determination of the technical characteristics of the series of synchronous motors with variable reluctance assisted by permanent magnets

10.09.2020 – 30.12.2020
( ~ 4 months)

Act 1.1 – Analysis of the results (tests) obtained for the laboratory model of the EMLEV electric motor
Act 1.2 – Preliminary study on the main components and definition of the technical characteristics of the series of synchronous motors with variable reluctance assisted by permanent magnets
Act 1.3 – Information dissemination
During the first stage, all the activities in the implementation plan were carried out. Thus, an experimental model of the motor was developed and the results obtained using simulations and test results contributed to the preliminary study of the main components and the definition of the technical characteristics of the series of variable reluctance synchronous motors assisted by permanent magnets

Completed

Phase 2 – Developing and testing the representative type size prototype from the EMLEV electric motor series

04.01.2021 – 31.12.2021
( ~ 12 months)

Act 2.1 – Study (final) on the main components and definition of the technical characteristics of the series of synchronous motors with variable reluctance assisted by permanent magnets
Act 2.2 – Feasibility study for the experimental development of the EMLEV electric motor
Act 2.3 – Design of the representative type size prototype from the EMLEV electric motor series
Act 2.4 – Prototype realization and tests bench subassemblies realization
Act 2.5 – Information dissemination
During the second stage, all the activities in the implementation plan were carried out. Thus, the study on the main components and the definition of the technical characteristics of the series of synchronous motors with variable reluctance assisted by permanent magnets was finalized. A feasibility study was carried out before the design and actual realization of the prototype. The prototype was made by the project coordinator and its main parameters can be found in table 1.

Completed

Phase 3 – Demonstration of the functionality of the EMLEV prototype

03.01.2022 – 09.09.2022
( ~ 8 months)

Act 3.1 – Tests bench realization
Act 3.2 – EMLEV prototype testing
Act 3.3 – Demonstration of functionality and validation of the EMLEV prototype
Act 3.4 – Elaboration of the final technical specification for the EMLEV electric motor series. Final report.
Act 3.5 – Information dissemination

During the 3rd stage of the project (the final stage) all the activities in the implementation plan were carried out. Thus, the tests bench was realized so that the test activity of the prototype of the synchronous motor with variable reluctance assisted by permanent ferrite magnets (EMLEV) was successfully started and completed. The results obtained were consistent with those obtained after the performed simulations, but also with those obtained from tests performed on the experimental model. The final technical documentation was developed and the results of the project were disseminated within prestigious European fairs and exhibitions (e.g., Eurosatory 2022 and others in the same category of importance thus ensuring a very good visibility of the project among researchers and possible future partners).
