Electric servomotors with fixtures made by unconventional soft magnetic materials
A solution to increase productivity of servo-motor production, to obtain better characteristics and to easy recyclation is an unconventional soft magnetic material made by magnetic powders (SMC - soft magnetic composites). These materials are isotropic and can achieve new configurations of magnetic circuits with 3D magnetic field distribution, avoiding the limitations enforced of the circuits made from ferromagnetic sheet-irons. Can be achieved new special forms of magnetic circuits, differed of the classic models. It is possible to obtain servo-motors with reduced sizes, more efficient, with low prices then elder methods. In order to maximize the advantages of magnetic powders it isn't sufficient the substitution of magnetic circuits from iron lamination as was tried before with asynchronous general-purpose motors. It is essential to re-design in 3D of the electrical machines.

-
Single tooth design, compact, high performance.
-
Shorter than conventional models.
-
Low moment of inertia of the rotor.
-
Resolver feedback
-
Mo = 2.8 Nm
-
Mn = 2.3 Nm @ 2000 rpm
-
Dimensions: 105 x 105 x 99 mm
There are other advantages of using SMC:
- the number of components of electric machines is reduced;
-
the process of
assemblage Is simplified; -
because the magnetic particles are electrically insulated, decreasing eddy current losses ;
-
reduced consumption of material by reason of the technology of achievement of the magnetic circuits (in a press form).
-
the complex configurations of the magnetic circuit allow teeth windings with reduced copper consumption;
-
the filling factor of the slots is increased, and the Joule loses are decreased;
-
the thickness of the slot insulation is reduced, resulting lower costs with stator insulation;
-
because the magnetic circuits are isotropic the outer diameter of the machines is reduced;
-
reduced costs of production and for production starting; the mold for armatures is cheaper than a stamp for stator lamination; there are no necessary procedures to consolidate the stacks of laminations.
