Brushless servo-motors series utilizing soft magnetic composite materials
Project no. 10 PTE / 2016
The SMC4SERVO project aims to develop a new series of brushless electric servomotors with soft composite (SMC) composite materials.
The objectives of the project are:
- Definition of technical characteristics and specifications of the servomotor series to meet the requirements of the international market (compact size, high torque density, high power density, low magnetic coupling parasitic torque and low electromagnetic torque waving)
- Designing and optimizing the high energy efficiency series of electric servomotors (over 90% on more than 60% of the operating mode) and allowing more than 80% recycling of the materials used to meet the requirements of EU directives
- Developing the series of electric servomotors that allows an efficient and economical manufacturing process by increasing automation and reducing labor
- Testing, demonstrating functionality and validating the representative prototype of the servo-motor series.
The series of brushless electric servomotors with SMC armatures will consist of three dimensional gauges. This project will have significant economic impact within Icpe by launching a high-tech series of high-tech servomotors and servo-systems (high-tech powertrain coupled with commercial power) at competitive prices and significant social effects in members of the consortium by participating in the design, testing and validation of electric motors using the latest materials and technologies.
